3 ways massage therapy can help YOU in your quest for Melbourne Marathon glory!
The Melbourne Marathon is only two weeks away! Hopefully you’ve prepared yourself well and are primed and ready to go. Here are three ways you can use massage therapy to make the most of your marathon experience.
1. Load management
A large amount (as high as 80%) of injuries experienced by runners are due to overuse. Preparing your body to take on the challenge of a marathon can mean pushing yourself further than you have before. Massage can be useful to help offload the additional muscular tension that results in testing your bodies limits.
2. Injury management
Despite all your careful preparation, you may still find yourself developing a niggle here and there. A soft tissue treatment on your specific complaint, as well as advice on management strategies such as stretching and taping can help you make it through the day.
3. Recovery
