Online consultations allow you to consult with one of our expert physiotherapists without having to leave your home or workplace. Our highly skilled physiotherapists will guide and clarify your injury through physiotherapy online, help you get out of pain, and set you up with a detailed plan to get you back to what you love doing.

How does Online Physiotherapy work?
Your private online sports physiotherapy sessions are conducted directly through our medical software called Cliniko, which provides world-class service.
The sessions are totally encrypted and pass all the Australian Privacy Principles standards (as well as European and American standards).
When you book your consultation, you will receive an email with a link to 'join the meeting'.
At the time of your consultation, click the link. Once the practitioner is ready and has started the meeting, you will be live, and the consult can begin—it's that easy.
We request that you set up in a quiet room with enough space to perform simple movements to demonstrate your current injury and capacity and do some simple exercises during your physiotherapy online session.
Please wear clothes similar to those you usually wear to an in-clinic physiotherapy consultation. Shorts and a singlet are perfect. Ideally, the therapist wants to view the joint or body part.

Frequently Asked Questions about Online Physiotherapy Telehealth Sessions
How much does an online sports physiotherapy consultation cost?
As you are still consulting with the same practitioners and getting the same level of care and expertise, all from the convenience of your home or workplace, the fee structure is the same as that of an in-clinic consultation. You can view the fees here.
Can I use my Private Health for online sports physiotherapy sessions?
From 14th April, most private health insurance companies will allow you to claim your private health insurance rebates for online physiotherapy consultations. There are a few requirements for some people, so please contact the clinic for all the details on 03 9498 0205.
Can I use Medicare for an online physiotherapy session?
Yes, you can use Medicare for online physiotherapy sessions as long as you are on a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your GP.
You can check HERE to find out more about the CDM plans. If you need to see a GP for a medical issue or to get a CDM plan, we can recommend Royal Park Medical, which offers Telehealth GP services.
What happens if I need scans or a referral?
The physios at Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy are still able to refer you for imaging (XRay, Ultrasound, MRI) as they deem necessary. Different scans for different body parts attract varying medicare rebates (we know, it's confusing right?), so we also work in conjunction with your doctor or specialist to work out the best option for you.
If we think your condition is not appropriate for physiotherapy, we will refer you to the particular service.
What if I need to see a Podiatrist for an online Podiatry consultation?
We work side by side with our colleagues at Melbourne Podiatry Clinic and can directly refer you to them, as they operate an excellent online podiatry consulting service.
The health and well being of you, our valued clients, and our team are our highest priority. If you would like to learn more during this period of uncertainty and confusion, you can contact us on 03 9498 0205.
What benefits can I expect from online physiotherapy consultations?
